I've been with Dr. Shaffer as a long-time Ulcerative Colitis sufferer for 3 year. I've really like him … until now. I'm having a miserable flare-up! He insist on prednisone, even after I told him I don't respond to that ("Who's the doctor?"). I complied. A month later, in an even more miserable state, I asked for 2 palliative meds + increase in the med I've had success with. He gave one of the palliative meds, refused the others and won't return my calls or see me. Unforgiveable!

Endoscopy was quick, easy and painless. Dr Shaffer was pleasant, efficient and explained all that I needed to know and answered all of my questions. I didn't feel rushed.
I saw Dr Shaffer as a new patient. He was very professional and thorough. He patiently listened to my medical history and concerns. He offered medical recommendations for my GI issues and treatment. I appreciate his genuine attention to my questions and concerns. I am extremely pleased with the care I received from Dr Shaffer as well as professionalism and friendliness of the entire office staff.

The process was efficient--in and out in 30 minutes for my follow-up. Dr. Shaffer answered all my questions.
Dr. Shaffer is very kind and caring. When I had my first colonoscopy I was extremely nervous and he was very reassuring. Because of his demeanor I was not nervous at all for my second procedure. He has a wonderful sense of humor and is very easy to communicate with. Dr. Shaffer explained my results to me in a manner that was easily understood. I wouldn't want to see any other doctor!
I would definitely recommend Dr Shaffer to family and friends. He was very thorough as he explained the procedure and had a very witty personality.
