The nurses weren't as attentive as I thought they should be. My husband was having a colonoscopy and was supposed to have an enema at 8am so he could have it done before 9 so he could get test done. It was like 8:15 so I found her sitting on a computer and said I'm sorry to bother u but isn't he supposed to have an enema at 8? She looks me up n down an says yeah I'll be down in a few min. Well, 8:40 rolls by n hear she is. They came to get my husband n he wasn't ready yet thanks to her. Her attitude is what really pissed me ... read more

We came here due to my brother in-law having multiple system failure. We brought our RV and we're parking it in the regular parking lot. Facilities was very gracious to find a spot for us to plug into so we could use the fridge and toilet. I then came into patient services and Renee went above and beyond to make sure we had Sentara bucks to be used tomorrow toward Thanksgiving dinner. She then made sure we were being set up with a spot to clean up and shower. All the staff here has been awesome.

I stayed in the hospital for 6 days for a gallbladder attack and removal...the staff was amazing even with troublesome patients (which there was 1 while I was there)... The staff was knowledgeable and prompt. I only had one issue and that was when i first got to the hospital... I had to wait 2 hrs in severe pain but that was because they were very busy that night.... with that being said...I had my son at this hospital a long time ago...I will go back to this hospital if needed to...

I have been here since Sunday morning for DKA and this is the first time I've ever been to Sentara instead of good ole Chesapeake General and I must say I will probably never go back to CGH. The nurses and doctors were so lovely and caring here. They always made sure I understood what was going on and most importantly made sure that I was okay and that all my needs were met and tried to make my stay as comfortable as possible. I've NEVER had a good stay with Chesapeake. Sentara has certainly been a breath of fresh air during... read more

I'm here now..... I feel like I'm on the back burner. The nurses have been awful. I'm on the 4th floor. I had a pretty major surgery yesterday.. I've asked to walk they keep telling me to hold on. Going on 4 hours of trying to walk. She said she was going to bring me a pain medication to get rid of the bad body aching I have going on.. 5 hours ago... nothing. When I call the nurse button to go to the bathroom I get a "hold on" 20 minutes later. I don't know if they are short handed but I've never experienced this here EVER!!... read more
