Stay away from this Santander Bank. Tried to pay off my home mortgage. Exciting day right?! Here is the experience... I got married and closed out my accounts in NH and got a joint account at Santander with my husband in MA. When I applied for a credit card, in person at the bank, they assured me I would have no problem getting one. I gave them my marriage certificate and proof of social security card with my new name on it. Absolutely disgusted with the customer service. I put in a claim for some fraudulent activity on my debit card on 12/20/18 on 12/22/18 a letter was sent to me denying my claim. How a claim was investigated in 1 business day is beyond me. When I call to find out why they denied my claim the agent told me it was because I didn't call the merchants that stole my information, but again what type of magical bank is Santander that they would know whether or not I called the merchants which I did because I was able to tell the agen... read more
I made a payment on my auto loan for $313.12 and they processed it for $613.12. I emailed customer service and have been completely ignored. Now I'm broke until payday. I'm glad my loan will be paid off in a few months and I'll never have to deal with them again.
I been a Santander bank customer for a few years. Today they returned a chalk from my checking account eventhough I had funds on my account. Then base on what happened to me. I called customer service for an explanation. They just said we apologize and they don't know why that happened. Then I ask to speak to a supervisor. Horrible bank, my husband and I moved all of our banking here when we moved. This was almost 5 months ago and we have had noting but problem after problem after problem. I can't even count how many times I've had to call them, and how many hours I've spent on the phone fixing things or just trying to get answers. I recently paid off my auto loan with Santander, which was paid in full. They reported my account as being a charge off which denotes that I settled to pay less than the contracted amount. This is incorrect and when I contacted Santander to correct the rating they noted that because there was a deliquency on my account they would not change it. In late March I received literature from Santander Bank to take out a personal loan to consoidate credit card bills. I was pre-aproved for a 35,000 dollar loan. when I applied they said my loan was reduced to 25,000 dollars. I never had this issue with any other bank. They try to charge you money for everything you do... I was cheated by them badly. Kept on charging me $35 almost every day the last 2 years. It’s 1000’s of Loses.
