Stay away from this bank they will only treat you right when your makin then money. They will close your account. With no explanation when u take your money out of saving account and send you 30 day notice for closing the account w no explaintion very bad business practice
I had a bad experience applying for a Santander credit card. I was denied because they were '"Unable to verify credit references as provided". Which makes no sense because they took the pleasure of digging my credit report (and score!) with an inquiry...to review my credit references! I got a auto loan with Santander bank four years ago in total the car cost 24,500 however four years later I still owe 19,000 for this car.its impossible that I still owe this much on this car which is a 2013 ****** ******.it was never brought to my attention that I would be paying for this car twice.pay the first with the interest then the price of the car.im very up set.i would like something to be done about the way Santander do business with people in the future.i felt like I been robbed
I opened a checking account a few days ago and was greeted to an email and text message alert that my debit card (that I had yet to receive) had been used for $200 worth of purchases. Considering that I don't even have access to this account yet and only received my welcome packet the day before, I called to investigate further only to wait on hold for 20+ minutes until being told that they don't know how this happened and would need to investigate further. Tried to open a checking account and receive a bonus for being a first time customer. Submitted all paperwork and was approved. Received all the documents needed to start using my account. I try logging into my account 1 week after receiving debit card. It states I don't have an account with them. I call customer service and they said my account was closed because I did not deposit any money when I first created it. It had been 2 weeks since I applied and they already closed my account! The Santander Bank, Davis Square Branch in Somerville MA is an accumulation of incompetent employees and deceitful business practices. I have been a business customer for over four years and the number of bad experiences with this bank is way too long to list them. I will only refer to the last one for the sake of keeping my sanity. As a banking promotion, I was promised $200 bonus to open one account. After 4 months of opening, there was no bonus. Called them and was told they decided I am not qualified after one month of account opening. On top of that, they charge "paper statement fee" every month. They charge "account fee" every month. No disclosure to the customer when you open the account. My best advice for this bank is STAY AWAY!!!
Please be advised that the extra layer of security to log on to Santander Bank for online Banking services has changed. There used to be a wonderful extra layer of protection with "challenge questions" which seems to have disappeared. I have been told that this was not intentional and that they are working on a resolution to put it back. In addition their entire website is not updated to copyright for 2017 throughout. I am very happy with every single aspect of this company. Their accounts are very straightforward and easy to access through their app which is also awesome. They also recommended a money market account with a great interest rate. I will be staying with this bank for a long time.
