SUSHI ORGASM – I had the most intensely ecstaticly blissful sushi orgasms of my life from eating here. Seriously, no other sushi restaurant has provoked such intense heavenly bliss in my life than the sushi here... FRESH FISH. HUGE ENORMOUS pieces of fish. It's insane. The BEST: HAMACHI (this is absolute bliss!), TORO (maybe even more blissful.) SAKE... these three alone i could have and nothing else and I think I would have died and gone to heaven. Their rolls here are spectacular. I love sushi and this is the best in town.... read more

Monster Sushi – Sushi the size of presto logs after waiting 45 minutes to an hour... Worth it, definitely! Huge amounts of very fresh sushi for the same price that you receive 50¢ piece diameter rolls elsewhere. Best strategy is to just put your name on the list and go for a walk in the surrounding neighborhood, come back and be prepaired to wait some more. Unfortunately you cannot make reservations and take out orders are limited to when they first open at around 5PM.

Good Sushi Value – This place is a great value in terms of quantity. As they say you pay for what you get, so you'd give up a little in the service portion of your experience. The quality of the fish is average. I grew up going to some very good sushi places throughout California (SF, LA, etc), so I've tasted some very high quality sushi. The key to what fish to order that day is to see peoples' orders and decide which looks the best. A place like this will have fish that varies in quality. The rolls are a great value. Other... read more

Fantastic Sushi! – On the contrary to some of the highly confused people claiming to be sushi "experts", yes this place is not your traditional sushi resturaunt but when did large portions and fresh fish become a negative thing? While there is an exceptionally long wait (very much worth it) once you get in there, you will be impressed by the upbeat environment, friendly staff, fast service and AMAZING sushi. So go a little early, put your name down, grab a coffee across the street while you're waiting and get ready sample so... read more

Are you crazy? – Some of the complaints listed here are ridiculous! Deep red tuna doesn't indicate freshness nor does pink looking tuna denote the opposite. Pink tuna has more FAT, and the fattier the better, fatty tuna (TORO) is HIGHLY desired by the Japanese. Same goes to guy who complained about salmon fat (some people prefer it). If you prefer the cheap stuff ask for "Akami" which mean lean. True it's not traditional sushi size, but it's still good sushi, at least they don't try to hide the quality of their fish with sau... read more

Sushi Mecca – Who cares that you'll wait at least 25 minutes outside, the staff are just there to get you the food not chitchat, and the seatings tight? Damn good sushi awaits you. Try the nebeyaki udon soup (a deiclous pork, mushroom, veggie udon noodle soup with the most flavorful (yes msg-full also) soup with an egg on top), share it with someone else or make it your only dishl cause it's filing and SPECTACULAR. Any of the sushi; spicy tuna roll, the dragon roll, oh and get edamame, deicous and great between sushi bites. ... read more

This is Sushi? – Not the place to go if you want authentic Sushi. Rolls the size of a hero sandwich and nigiri the size of 4 c cell batteries layed side by side is way over the top. Sitting at the Sushi Bar here is not the place to sit because you are looking into a panneled wall and the chefs are about 3 feet above your head. However, if you are into grotesque, mutated Sushi where service and the experience doesn't matter, then by all means visit.

Rude service!!!!!!! – Me and my family used to be regular customers of Saburo's but not anymore! Recently our whole family went there and from the time we sat down the young waitress was very rude and condescending. She didn't seem to care about anything. She sat people reight next to me even though there was no one else waiting. She could have sat them elsewhere. My dad complained about the service to the "manager" and he told my dad if we didn't like the service then go elsewhere! The manager also wouldn't tell my dad the ... read more

Very Bad – The servings are big, but they are huge servings of horrible quality fish. I've been several times and each time i was unable to find anything that I tasted like it hadn't been sitting in the ice box for the better part of that week. This fact is evident by the horrible "safeway fish counter" smell in the place. Would you you buy sushi at safeway? It is an unpleasant eating experience preceeded by sometimes an hour long wait outside. Don't waste your time or your money.
