The idea for Ruby’s Diner was born in 1980 after a run on the beach. Doug Cavanaugh had just returned to his native Southern California after successfully restoring and running a restaurant on Nantucket Island off Cape Cod. Ruby's: Food was awesome, we saw little baby dolphins from our table.The service was excellent.
Foods good but service isn't always so great. We had long waits between our lady appearing at our table.

Worst. Omelet. Ever. Denver omelet was dry, barely any cheese, barely any onion, I asked for tomato, wait for it..... barely any tomato. 1 star for the waitress, 1 star for the location, zero for the food.

I have frequented this Ruby's many many times and it never fails that I get very poor service and terrible food. I've come to expect it . I go for the view. Can't beat the view at a window seat. This time I ordered the shrimp, fish and chips. The shrimp and the fish were way over cooked but if returned it, it would take another 20 min to get another order. As it was, it to 15 min before a server said "I'll be right with you". Then another 10 min before they came back. Again, I'm there for the view. I just wish the service an... read more
