The idea for Ruby’s Diner was born in 1980 after a run on the beach. Doug Cavanaugh had just returned to his native Southern California after successfully restoring and running a restaurant on Nantucket Island off Cape Cod. The food and service were great but the restaurant itself was uncomfortable. It was hot and stuffy with only one door open. It’s difficult to enjoy your meal if you are seating. ☹️

Waited more than an hour food was not fresh, fries were old cold and lymph, burger was mediocre at best. I was very disappointed. Eaten at several other Ruby’s all great . Not this one not on Saturday. The coke at the walk up was great. Won’t be back�

Not great .. but the place is cute ... you can’t be in a rush if you go there so expect to enjoy the view and nostalgia...
A good place to eat a guy name John help me and my gf great and make sure we are doing ok and make sure if are burgers was good my gf bigger wasn't cook all the way and John fix it for us thank you John for you help he was a good server I recommend him to help you out...

All carbs and not very healthy. The fish and chips we ok. Not much of a verity on the menu. Probably ok if you want a burger. Many top quality restaurants near bye.

We love walking to Ruby’s on the pier. The staff was very friendly & we had an amazing view of the Pacific Ocean. The fried green beans were tasty & my albacore melt was great!!! Thank you, for being a special part of our family’s memories. ��
