The idea for Ruby’s Diner was born in 1980 after a run on the beach. Doug Cavanaugh had just returned to his native Southern California after successfully restoring and running a restaurant on Nantucket Island off Cape Cod. My family and i had an awesome experience. Service was great. Food was great! Wait time was 30min for a party of 4 but we got in in less than 20min... AND also got a great ocean upper level view. Too bad I don't remember our servers name because he gave us excellent service! AC was broken. Manager acted like a fool when we decided to leave because it was so hot on the second floor. Not sure why they chose to keep that portion open during the heatwave we are in. Anyways service was terrible and we had a server who was in training bring us a few waters. But my wife and I decided it was better to just walk then deal with the heat. So we left luckily we didn’t order anything so it made it easier to walk

I had a great time. It was a little bit of a wait but that didn’t bother me. When my food came everything was very good. The only thing I didn’t like was the strawberry lemonade it didn’t taste very good but other than that good experience.
