On 9/30/23 a Roto-Rooter technician was at *** ** ****Street to clear the slow draining pipe. It was done from basement from the clean out connection, which is there just for that reason. It was accomplished easily. I also asked the technician snake the floor drain in basement to sewer. Easily done. I supplied the hose for him to run the water through to see that water was easily flowing. All of this took just 2.5 hours at most. I went through a great deal of frustration with other resources before calling Roto-Rooter. My sewer was backing up in one of my rainwater drains. I spoke with, or had visits from, my sewer insurance company plus their associated plumbing company, the City of *********, the ********* Sewer System (neorsd), Wastewater Management, and an independent sewer cleaning company, trying to determine where my sewer line was as well as the "cleanout". Terrible experience trying to pay the bill, we had called in multiple times to try and pay and every time was met with a voicemail. Weeks go by and I get a call that if we don't pay by the end of the day there would be a lean put on our house. We were ready to pay weeks ago and could not get anyone on the phone to pay, and the lady we worked with to pay told us said she had never got a voicemail. I’m filing claims for insurance fraud on behalf of a 86 year old in *** ***** California. This is extortion. They use Predatory practices. She called a plumber to fix a leaky toilet and paid 290.00. Ok sounds fair enough in San Jose ca prices. Then they sent some guys to hang up tarps and set up some machines to filter the air because they say there is mold and left it there a week then came and got equipment. Absolute scam company. Charged me $500 to snake a line and couldn't fix it twice. Then they wanted another $1300 to jet the line with no guarantees. I get a call from their "water mitigation team leader" and he told me on the phone that they would send a crew to demo the water damage and dry out my basement. He filed a claim with my insurance in front of me, then didn't help me at all since. I just got a giant $2800 bill for them to do a couple hours worth of work. Scheduled apt with Rotorooter for a 2nd opinion on my hot water heater. I called and verified that it was a free estimate. 1st tech another company. Rotorooter sent a tech out that laid on my floor in front of hot water heater. I realized that my hot water heater light was blinking and had my kids check the hot water. Root Rooter did a Fantastic job clearing a garment from our pipes that someone flushed down the drain. They may cost more than a mom and pop plumber, but they are fast. Our other plumber may not have as fast.
