Rotor Rooter was horrible. Not 24/7 next day. 450.00 labor to replace waterline. Pathetic! Never again. Technician never called to tell us he was on his way. Customer service rating is ZERO!!!!!!!! ***** *****

We had Roto-Rooter come to repair our water heater which had stopped working the day before. Upon arriving, they said that the pilot light had merely gone out, speculating that perhaps the wind snuffed it out, and that the water heater was in good condition for its age (15 years old) and should be fine for another year at least. The pilot light went out again not even two days later. Worst experience and lack of professionalism! I had a tech, Ryan L****, out of their Providence,RI office come out today to clear a clog and restore flow in the plumbing today. Once I refused any extra services that were offered to me he told me the job was done, never tested it, and packed up and left. As soon as he left I turned the main water back on and quickly realized the lines were still clogged. I called him back he told me he would send someone right over. Left my yard trashed after a sewage line replacement. One guy put our branches and bush that they had to destroy to have room to work into the back of the truck and the other told him to take them out left them lay in my yard, not even in one pile. It doesn't even look like they tried to pack the dirt down once they filled in the hole, just threw it on there. I just think if i'm going to pay $3700 for a service, they could've treated my yard with a little respect and put things back nicely. I would've paid the local guy half... read more

I guess you don't really post on BBB unless you've had a terrible experience with a company, and boy, did we have a terrible experience with Roto Rooters. We had them come out to clean out our flooded basement and replace a failed sump pump. After a week of cleaning and 3 (!!) visits from the plumber after they couldn't install the pump correctly, oh and $7K later, our basement flooded again. They sent another plumber out who told me that he didn't really know what was wrong, but it seemed like we needed to hire a landscapin... read more

Long story, but worth the read! AND ALWAYS GET A SECOND OPINION! In February, I had Roto Rooter out because the drain in my basement was beginning to back up. I figured it was due to roots entering the drain where the clay meets the cast iron. Friendly guy, but red flags went up when he kept telling me that I may have some underlying issue and would like his field supervisor to come out and put a camera in the drain. I agree with most of these reviews. The technician came out and cleared my sewer drain and then charged my $485 for 20 minutes work outside the house! Absolutely ridiculous . I didn't think I was hiring a brain surgeon, but I was charged as if I had. Absolutely do not recommend these people. How can BBB rate them A+ when 68 customer reviews average just over one star of 5. Guess BBB doesn't take customer reviews into consideration when giving misleading reviews

scam of a service. called them to fix a clog, charged me- it clogged again 3 weeks later they didnt want to come fix it. alternatively Called a local plumber for a similar problem- they fixed it havent had a problem for the past 8 months. do not use
