I wish 0 stars was an option. I had a small sewer back up in my property, the plumber from roto rooter was fine and fixed the blockage asap. The problem is with the scum bag water restoration representative. They employ scare tactics and told my tenants to leave the property because the air is toxic! There was less than a millimeter of water on my tile floor in the basement and they want to rip the dry wall and baseboard out! UNBELIEVABLE!! I have had some issues with Roto-Rooter Company. I have blindly trusted them for years, because some of them are probably trust-worthy. However, I have realized that some of them are not. 1. I got 2 ejector pumps, one cost more at one house than it did at the other. They were both installed a week apart, so there was no time for a price increase. Charged us 5000 dollars to fix the backup and it never got fixed where the problem was. They just dug up 30 feet of yard put new pipe there and never fixed the backup under the house where the problem was in the first place.tolf me I needed to fix that myself. I would never recommend roto rooter for any plumbing issue you have. I could have done it myself for 1200.

Horrible service. Been waiting since 11:30 am and it’s now 5:00 pm and no one has showed yet. Can’t get a straight answer as to when they’re going to show up.

Worst company to deal with , wish there is 0 star they rip me off $1000 for 20 minutes basement overflow work and never give the details , return any calls or provide a good reason, they suppose to do a follow up to scan for more issue around the main sewer line and told tech will be coming from 8 -12 pm no one showed up or care answer calls and finally the tech Pick-up the phone , never apologize simply said he will come tomorrow between 8-12 second day never showed up. Roto-Rooter does not follow their 24hr emergency promise. We waited 5hrs and was never serviced. They call us after waiting 5 hrs and talking to two other people and told us they were booked for the day. No apologies or restoration for time lost.

Had extensive work done last month after roots started growing in my drain. I was recommended 3 patches be placed in my drain to prevent additional basement flooding. While working, the technician claimed I needed a new sewer clean out because he couldn't get the patching equipment into the old one, and so we had them put that in. They then jetted the line, clearing out any additional roots, and "installed" 3 patches, totalling out to 12 thousand dollars (not counting previous work clearing the drain and scoping it out). Charged us $500 and did not fix the problem, told us several things that needed to be done in order to fix it... wanted more money to do some extensive work. Called a different company and they came right away and fixed our problem for $200. I do not recommend Roto Rooter. I think they are squeezing every dime they can out of their customers, whether the work is actually needed or not.

My 75-year-old mother (who is currently living alone) called Roto Rooter to get a small cap out of a drain in a bathroom. She was quoted a $60 fee and was satisfied with that estimate so asked to also replace the drain stoppers in two sinks in the same bathroom. There were 2 employees on the job, they were in the home for an hour max and charged her $800! This is price-gouging, taking advantage of the elderly and grossly unacceptable.
