Dr. Boykin described the injury - gave me options & then explained the surgery. From pre op through my latest visit I have been extremely happy with the entire procedure. He is the best. BTW he also repaired my knee some years ago with great results - hope he doesn't retire until i'm in the ground.
After another doctor, at another group, told me I needed a shoulder replacement in the next few weeks, I went to Doctor Boykin for a second opinion. After a thorough exam, he said that I had much better range of motion than I would with a shoulder replacement and answered all my questions, including exercises to do to avoid surgery. Years later, when I tore the rotator cuff on the other shoulder, he put it all back together carefully and cleaned out all the bone spurs. He's thoughtful, considerate and knows what he's doing. ... read more
I’m having my second shoulder replacement with Dr Boykin and after my first one year ago I would not let anyone else touch me he is a great doctor and a nice man
Dr Boykin is a very caring Dr. he is very professional but listen to us. My husband had shoulder replacement about a year ago. He did very good had no problems and hardly any pain. I had shoulder repair few year ago. I had hardly any pain. I just went back this month with my other shoulder. He put a shot in it. It hasn’t bothered me since then. We would recommend Dr Boykin to anyone. Glenn and Phyllis Wilson
He was friendly and receptive. Was not in a hurry and answered all of my questions.
Dr Boykin is amazing! If you need an orthopedic surgeon… look no further! I had a reverse shoulder replacement and I swear to you after 3 weeks you can barely see the scar. He is very good at explaining everything that he will be doing. He is very thorough. My daughters call him a Savant. From them, that is the highest praise
Besides Dr. Boykin’s extensive and impressive resume, starting with medical school at prestigious Vanderbilt University, his demeanor is humble, academic and salt-of-the-earth. Keenly attuned to my needs and concerns (since this was my second rotator cuff surgery on the same rotator cuff), Dr. Boykin methodically and sensitively reviewed all details both pre-surgery and post-surgery. Additionally, since a successful recovery remains paramount, Dr. Boykin put in place slow and steady protocols and ensured the physical therapi... read more
Dr. Boykin was very professional, listened carefully to what I had to say, and answered all of my questions. He spent a lot of time on my shoulder surgery and did a good job for me. 6 months later, which is the amount of time for healing, I am doing pretty well. I appreciate all he did for me, and recommend him to others.
I’ve known Dr Boykin from working with him at a local hospital. His skill in the OR is what made me want him to help me. I’ve done many shoulder repairs with him. You can depend on him for the best outcome. From the office to the operating room he was very thorough. Marc Galin, his NP was always available for me in regards to helping file forms for work, medications, etc
