When I determined that I might need surgery to correct shoulder pain, I did thorough research of available site (including Healthgrades) to identify the best surgeon in the area to perform the necessary surgery. That is how I found Dr. Boykin. His credentials (both academic and medical) were most impressive and his patient reviews were incredible. Now, 5 most post surgery, I see that the reviews were, if anything, understated. I also watched an online video in which Dr. Boykin discussed shoulder injuries and corrective surge... read more
Doctor Boykin listens to your concerns, is knowledgeable and makes you feel important during your visit. Your time is valuable to him. He is empathetic and has an amazing bedside manner. We are lucky to have him with Emerge.
Dr. Boykin was very personable, although very professional. He gave me his findings and I felt that he had thoroughly reviewed all the information. I highly recommend him if you’re having any kind of knee issues!
Dr. Boykin was recommended by my personal health physician, who'd had a quite positive experience with Dr. Boykin. He has a great patient demeanor and is responsive to questions.
Quiet confidence. Impressive credentials. Current practice is solely concentrated upon shoulders. Provided a good You-tube presentation on 'reverse' replacement. Provided solid answers during our introductory meeting. His Group is solid. Their physical therapy-rehab is very well staffed, and deserve more credit than they receive. I seem well on my the way to full recovery from the 2nd surgery- within the time parameters which Dr. Boykin had speculated. This surgery must be terribly complex and I am grateful for this success.... read more
Dr. Boykin, team, and facilities are top-notch. My shoulder was mangled, and 5 months after I'm on the path to better than full recovery. Thanks for everything!
Dr. Boykin is a not only an incredible surgeon but a kind and caring doctor. He listens and factors that feedback into his decisions. He did an amazing job with my shoulder replacement. I went from being in terrible pain to riding my mountain bike and paddle boarding. I felt confident going into surgery knowing he was in charge of my operation. I would recommend him in a heartbeat. I am grateful to have him as my doctor.
I visited Dr Boykin after finding out I had 3 torn rotator tendons in my shoulder . The separation of the tendons and the full thickness tears made this a very difficult surgery. Dr. Boykin was very thorough in his assessment and the surgery went extremely well. I was very impressed with Dr Boykin, his team of assistants, as well as the EmergeOrtho physical therapy center in Weaverville. I hope I don't have to visit them again in the future, but if i do, I wouldn't hesitate to return.
Dr. Boykin performed rotator cuff tear surgery on both my right and left shoulder. He is an excellent surgeon and empathetic doctor. I would recommend him to anyone.
