Opened in 1771 by Colonel Ebenezer Crafts, the Publick House Historic Inn offers a charming and historical stay. The inn was used during the American Revolution as a training ground for soldiers and rumor has it that George Washington even stopped by. In fact, Publick House has always been an inn and restaurant except during World War II when it was used by the army. Guests can decide whether to stay in the historic building of Publick House or in one of the newer buildings like Country Lodge which is located in an apple orc... read more

The Publick House has been a beloved family favorite for generations. The food is delicious, the bakery divine. The ambiance and historical feel make visiting magical. I had my wedding there, and their always attentive staff were especially involved.
Such a cute place! Love the posts and beams and all the charm. Food was delicious! Drinks were pricey, only thing.
We rented a room there for a family function and it was the best time we ever had, the staff was very helpful and the food was excellent, can't wait to go back again
It was nice but it's no Longfellow's Wayside Inn so we will probably not go back but it was relatively good food and the service was excellent we went on Thanksgiving as a party of six and we had a good time
The Publick is a wonderful place to gather for a holiday or any other day. The service is wonderful, the food is fresh Americana fare and it's very close to exit 9 on the Mass Pike. A great meeting place for families spread over New England.
Doug and I were absolutely thrilled with our wedding at the Publick House! It was perfect. We received so many compliments on our wedding! Guests kept telling us how beautiful Paige Hall was and how the food was fantastic! The staff was incredibly helpful and always on point. They kept in constant contact with us about every detail and made sure that our special day was exactly what we wanted. Lisa Lacoste and Kris Jacobson were lifesavers! Our suite was gorgeous! We are already looking into booking a night for our one year ... read more
I could find nothing not to like. The staff, no matter how busy, always seem to have time for you. Everyone was friendly, efficient, professional. The food was between very good an superb, the room large, beautifully furnished, comfortable, the breakfast in the bakery - that's the way to start the day .
Great portions and a peaceful setting! I loved the $9 dollar make it a complete meal deal where you got to pick two items out of three: side salad, soup, dessert, etc.
We had one of the worst, and most expensive meals we have ever had at a restaurant. My husband and I both ordered the prime rib, his med rare, mine med well. They were both extremely tough pieces of meat. The waiter offered to bring us both another piece, but they were just as bad as the first. Won't go there again!
