Opened in 1771 by Colonel Ebenezer Crafts, the Publick House Historic Inn offers a charming and historical stay. The inn was used during the American Revolution as a training ground for soldiers and rumor has it that George Washington even stopped by. In fact, Publick House has always been an inn and restaurant except during World War II when it was used by the army. Guests can decide whether to stay in the historic building of Publick House or in one of the newer buildings like Country Lodge which is located in an apple orc... read more

We truly enjoyed staying here. Stayed in the Lodge. Really nice rooms. Lovely grounds. Love the history of the inn. Definitely plan on staying again.
This is our second time here we love it service food people everything an everyone are respectful also helpful all around great place
The publick house was a spectacular spot for my sister's wedding this past weekend. Everyone enjoyed staying there, the bakery, the kitchen, and especially the event staff particularly Kristen were simply the best!! What excellent service, accommodating every need even needs we didn't anticipate and needed help with in a pinch. No question this would be a great place for a wedding or any other special gathering; big or small! We will surely return again and again :)
We come every year for Birthday celebrations. It's a treat to enjoy the tasty meals there, and the atmosphere pleasant to be in.
Wonderful staff and great to me as the DJ for a friend's wedding. Shout out to Alec, great to work with on the Banquets side of the house. Rooms in the Inn are clean and comfortable.
I always always ALWAYS enjoy the ambiance and landscaping and sheer loveliness of the Publick House. The food is very very good- the wine list is decent- I wish the bar had Hendricks gin- but bakery is on point!
My husband and I stayed at the Publick House for a night and absolutely loved it. The staff was always so pleasant and helpful. The food was amazing -compliments to the chef!! The bakery had the best goodies too!! The rooms are very cozy and comfortable. I love the Decour I felt like I was in the 1800s!! The bed was super comfortable and I slept the best I've ever slept. I was so relaxed after staying here. Can't wait to plan a trip to stay here again!!!!
Our first visit to this establishment was not a disappointment! I had the turkey dinner followed by grape nut pudding for dessert. Everything was outstanding. And, CINNAMON ICE CREAM, where have you been all my life??!! We can't wait to return and stay at the inn, as well!
