Opened in 1771 by Colonel Ebenezer Crafts, the Publick House Historic Inn offers a charming and historical stay. The inn was used during the American Revolution as a training ground for soldiers and rumor has it that George Washington even stopped by. Guests can decide whether to stay in the historic building of Publick House or in one of the newer buildings like Country Lodge which is located in an apple orc... read more

It's beautiful here, and there are lovely thoughtful personal touches to everything that make you feel very comfortable. A favorite of ours: the three pillows on the bed of various firmness for you to choose from ;)
I was at a wedding today there and you're staff was amazing, the food was delicious and it was a perfect place for a wedding. It definitely was beautiful.
My sisters, brothers and my family spent Easter here. Loved it- food, room, staff, everything. Thank you for a wonderful day.
The atmosphere was beautiful, the food was less then mediocre. Not worth 36 bucks a person.
Such a cozy beautiful place with a historic vibe and modern comforts. Lots of nooks and crannies for socializing and hiding (lol) and super lovely and helpful staff ! Did a great job coordinating and hosting our daughters wedding and never once made us feel like, around ours, another party had just ended and one was about to begin.
We love the Publick House. We've been coming here for more than two decades. It is so charming, a real slice of Olde New England. We always stop in at the Ebenezer Tavern and Bake Shoppe whenever we are traveling by on Route 84 and the Mass Pike. We have fond memories of a delightful old fashioned President's Day Weekend with our son years ago when he was very young. The package included two days at Olde Sturbridge Village.
My server Kelly changed my tip amount after I left...really. How is even allowed?
The food and atmosphere were great, especially with the huge fireplace they have! The food was decently priced and the old-fashioned chicken pot pie that I got was by far the best I've ever had! I would definitely recommend this place! Some people were really dressed up and others were in jeans.
opens at 11;30 stood at hostess stand till 11;45 with at least 6 different employees ,waiters, managers, cooks and the hostess herself just walking by us even standing at hostess stand right in front of us NOT one said" Hi" or " we open at 11;30" or " we will be right with you ",nothing like we were completely invisible .Not a good start .
