History Established in 1921. It all began over 90 years ago, when a new Chevrolet cost $850, 40 mph was highway cruising speed, traffic jams and tailgating were unknown, and liquor was illegal. Not a bad year to start an automobile insurance company.

tripled my insurance without notice, zero claims, zero tickets, zero incidents, charged me a 3rd prorated when I cancelled after a week. this company should be ashamed of themselves

My husband had back and hip trouble and had to have surgery, this putting us at half of a paycheck, being on short term disability. My niece had recently become an insurance agent. she assured me that she could find better and cheaper home and car insurance for us to help us get by a bit easier, and she did! I was making my payments 3 weeks early and very happy to have a smaller payment. We have been a customer for 10 years with only 1 minor claim. I was happy with pekin, a little expensive but other than that pretty decent, until now you don't want to insure my manufactured home! I don't live in a place with bad weather for the most part. But to just drop me because of my home being a manufactured home wtf. Now I am really ****** off and would not recommend your service to my worst enemy!?? YOU need to fix the star system so I can leave you a negative star review.

Had a commercial policy with this company for over 20 years. Every few years I would get a new agent , I was tired of training. New agents couldn’t even get a callback never had a claim. They just thought I was automatic customer service got worse and worse. All they had to do is return phone calls ! I fired them!

There is a theme in these reviews of undervaluing property claims. It appears borderline criminal, given the scope and gravity. I am going through a similar experience, where it has taken over a month for the company to send an appraiser, who ultimately undervalued my motorcycle by thousands of dollars. Thankfully I kept all of my receipts, but the process is not finished. ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE! It’s been nearly 50 days and I’ve called over 20 times, left multiple voicemails and even tried emailing, and have yet to receive a response from my auto adjuster. I even called and left a voicemail for the his manager but he has not responded either. They just keep making excuses and doing whatever they can to delay the claims process. I wish I could do zero stars. This company is terrible. I had an accident in June which was my first accident in over 15 years ( only one other). And they paid the claim. However, 6 months later and after paying all premiums on time they dropped my coverage due to the accident. If you’re going to claim that the reason is the accident don’t sneakily collect premiums to further your business then drop the policy. Poor business practice. Do not do business with this company.

Pekin is HORRIBLE JR the adjuster assigned did not respond to me. Spent weeks waiting for a call or email back after filing the claim. The 2 times I was able to make contact with her she was dismissive and condescending. Just plain rude. We waited 22 days just to get an ok for the restoration company to come out to my home for the massive leak. I was abandoned with a vehicle that was deemed a total loss by an auto shop with no rental car or contact from pekin insurance for weeks. They eventually reached out to me, told me they were investigating if they were liable, and eventually came to the conclusion that they were liable for the damages. It has now been 28 days since my car was damaged, and I am just now getting information on how to get a rental car.
