One of our fleet trucks was involved in an accident with a customer of Pekin. Per our company policy we needed to send our employee to take a drug and alcohol screening and had lost revenue for the employees to switch equipment to another vehicle. Pekin refused to recognize our loses for this time and suggested that since it was a slow time of the year we would have the time to deal with the issue on our own. I hit a deer back in the beginning of November, I filed the claim as soon as possible with them, i had no car because my card was deemed not to be driven by multiple different repair shops. They took a week to get back to me and get me a car even though e********* said they had multiple different cars available. The claim was submitted on November 18, 2019. Contact was made with the customer on this date and a reservation was set for rental direct bill with E*********. The customer was advised no rentals were available on the date of loss and if one was found before then she would let us know. The insured was put into a rental on November 19, 2019. An inspection was completed on the unit and draft was issued for repairs on November 21, 2019. Their client backed into my parked h*****, brand new barely 2k miles on it. Ended up costing 10k to fix everything that was damaged. I went through my insurance company, which I'm glad I did. That was almost a year ago. I still have an open claim on my insurance because they have not paid them back yet. The complainant chose to go through his insurance carrier. We then worked with the complainant's insurance company to resolve the claim. The complainant is correct that we did receive black and white photos from his carrier. We subsequently requested color photos as it was pertinent to our investigation. The claim with the complainant's insurance carrier was resolved on 11/15/19.
Pekin Insurance has been so easy to work with. All of my claims have been handled VERY quickly, professionally, and completely. There was NO arguing, NO begging, and NO headaches. Just easy to work with.

After a Severe Thunderstorm June 30 2019, with Winds exceeding 70MPH, My roof sustained major damage as well as Surrounding houses in the area. I called Pekin who sent out an adjuster, who was at my house all of 10 minutes. My neighbor caught the carnage of the storm tearing my roof off as it happened, I mention to adjuster I had this video if he needed it, didn’t care?? Pekin completed an inspection of the property and completed an estimate for damages related to wind. The inspection also revealed several areas in which shingles had become unsealed, not due to wind, but due to installation issues. During the installation of the roof, nails were positioned improperly in the sealant strip. This reduces the amount of adhesive which seals the shingles. Good luck getting them to pay for anything. Insurance adjuster from pekin approved work to be done on my house from storm damage. Almost a year later a new adjuster was assigned and went against everything the first adjuster approved, after the work was completed leaving me to pay out of pocket for repairs pekin initially approved.

Pekin Insurance has paid for all damages to indemnify the customer in this loss. The payments included the cost of like kind and quality materials that the customer had on his dwelling and other structures. The customer elected to replace the vinyl siding with a different product that was a higher quality/grade and the difference in cost was their responsibility to pay out of pocket. The current adjuster did not go against everything the original adjuster approved.
Their client hit me and it was like pulling teeth to get them to pay . Hire a lawyer if they have Pekin insurance . I’m reporting them to bbb and with the state !! Just a terrible insurance company!!
