Payless is car rental is a Rip off. Do not give a blank credit you will be surprised. Rented a Car for three days in San Diego through ***********. Paid a few of $207.11 cents. Do not rent from this company. Picked a car up with damage on the windshield. I reported and documented this minutes after picking the car up and i was assured a ticket has been created and would not be charged. A month after returning the car i get a random 284$ charge to my CC with zero documentation about why. I call to inquire and I'm being charged for the windshield i reported to be broken when i got the car. The quote from ******* was 626, but out the door for a week was 1102!!!. And, I am driving the crappiest car in the world, it only came with a steel key, so totally manual locks. It handles horribly at high speeds on the freeway. Avoid Payless at all costs, high fees, and terrible cars. I am forfeiting the payment and returning the car early. Never, never do Payless Car.

Do not rent from Payless. Two months after returning the vehicle we rented, we got a claim in the mail for damages we did not incur during our time driving it. When we asked Payless to email photos and documentation substantiating the claim, they assured us they would and never did. We finally were able to see the documentation months later, which showed Payless was seeking payment from us for damages incurred a WEEK AFTER we returned the vehicle. I was provided horrible service at the Ontario Ca Airport location the rep Manny was rude condescending and lacked customer service skills period. I arrived and they did not have any cars available even though I had a reservation and when I asked why I was being given a particular car Manny was rude and stated that's what they had. I reserved a car online from Payless Car Rental for the San Diego location. I showed up to get my car at this San Diego location and they told me they didn't have any cars available for me(even though I had paid for one), but that I could wait around for a few hours to see if anything came in. I believe they denied the discount as they ended up bringing out the same class that was reserved. As a courtesy a check has been mailed for $30 since the rental was prepaid.
I am dealing with the worst customer service from any company in my entire life. I rented a car from Dallas on 10/21/21. That same date I was hit by another driver and the rental had to be towed away. I contacted Payless from the scene of the accident and the police officer spoke to the rep giving him the information as to where the car would be towed and picked up. You will be given a vehicle you didn't request, charged numerous fees you were not quoted, then over charged when you return the vehicle as they do not give you a receipt, it will be emailed in 20 minutes. Then it never shows up.

Charged $250 fee a month later saying we left the car dirty and the person where we dropped it off at told they would clean it, the tires on the car that they gave us was a hazard, they were so worn down. Terrible company, do not use them.
