10/29/21 Richmond, VA Int'l Airport: Rented a car through Payless, originally was in my mom's name. They asked for a bank card to hold money due to some policy, she did not have that and was going to use her credit card. She asked me if she could use my card just to hold the money. NEVER EVER USE PAYLESS CAR RENTAL! What a terrible company! I received a car from them that smelled terrible but didn't notice it until the following day after it was sitting in the sun all day so I decided to hang a air freshener. NOW I have been charged a "CLEANING FEE" because they gave me a stinky car and I tried to make the smell go away. When I signed for the car all they told me was there is no smoking in the car. As we arrived to the San Antonio international Airport we expected a smooth transition into our rental car that was reserved a month in advanced. I was completely wrong, we stood in line behind six people, waited 1hr after the third person was help they closed the counter and we were told to go back to the 5th floor for someone to help us. I have rented a car from Payless Car Rental on 3rd September 2021 to 7th September from DFW airport, Dallas, TX. (Rental Agreement XXXXX). For their service they charged me with $427.15 and they withhold $200 as caution deposit using ***** credit card. On 7th September 2021, I have retuned back their vehicle neat & tidy on a full tank of gas and got the clearance from the company on the same day, where they returned back my caution deposit. I am highly dissatisfied with the service I received at the Houston lobby Payless Car rental service. No one gave me a contract the desk agent stated that she would email it to me, I never received anything in my email. The Payless counter is next to Avis and budget, their agents are explaining toll fees, gas fees, printing out receipts and providing detailed explanations. I rented a car from Payless through ********* which I picked up from the Birmingham Airport. When I got to the Payless counter, it was closed; however, there was a handwritten note to report to Avis. I reported to Avis. A few days later I returned the car on a full tank of gas and I have a receipt to support this. I later received a statement from my bank showing a much higher amount.
