I will never rent from Payless Car rentals in San Diego International Airport! They are liars and thieves. I rented a car and was charged upon return to fill up the gas tank for $76.00 for a Hyundai 4-door. They supposedly performed an investigation and it took over 2 months to get back with me. I submitted gas receipts and pictures and they still say that I did not returned the car filled with gas. I rented the car through the Alaskaair web site. No where did it say you could not enter Arizona and I rented the car to go there. Then they told me there was a mandatory replacement insurance that was required in the state of California. I live in California and have never really been told this before. $21 per day plus 38% tax! So this is actually the second day we have had this car picked it up last night, the outside was absolutely dirty never washed, and the inside smelled mildewy and with a touch of nauseating smell that lingered we bought glade spray to no avail, spent 404$ plus a 200$ deposit had to get cleaning wipes because everything you touched was sticky as if it was never cleaned and every wipe we used came out dirty and black. I rented a car from Payless 3 weeks ago. It was a black 4 Runner SUV that was rented from Albuquerque, NM and returned to Phoenix, AZ. I picked up the vehicle at 7pm on February 20th. It was returned on the agreed upon date and time of February 27th at 10am at the Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport location. Buyers Beware ! I dropped off a rental at the Dallas Love Field Airport Payless car rental returns. The car was all in tact, not damaged or any scuffs. I received the receipt by e-mail showing the amount according to the agreement and all's good. NOT. A month passed, on the same purchase agreement, without any form of communication, or my consent, Payless made a fraudulent claim charging my credit card $500+ for a made up "damage" charges. Reserved a large car. They over booked and didn't have one. Our group was put in a tiny Yaris and still charged the larger car price.

Payless is ignoring my requests and phone calls regarding an issue with returning a rental car. I have an outstanding issue in which they refuse to check in a car that has been sitting there for over 8 hours! I have left several phone calls and emails and there is no resolution to this matter.

i rented a car from Payless for one night on September 18, 2020, at the Memphis International Airport. I returned the car to the same location that I had picked it up from the very next day; September 19, 2020. When I returned the car, I waited for 20 minutes for someone to check me out.
