This small, somewhat eccentric café is a local favorite. The décor is certainly part of the café's charm- bright primary colors abound, the thrift store furniture is mismatched; mannequins, dolls and other toys decorate the window sills, walls and even the ceiling. But it's the food that keeps the locals coming back. It's a terrific blend of traditional home cooking and lighter vegetarian fare. The French toast (served all day) is one of the city's treasures.

Why do you constantly ignore your customers complaints about your weird rules and constantly say we want to know so we can change things but you constantly ignore all comments about your rules and ive never seen a place accused of being racist as much as yours there must be some truth to it
Must try the shrimp and grits and the banana French toast! To die for!
I visited my old neighborhood, before heading to Artscape. Visited the Papermoon, with my wife, daughters and mother-in-law. At the end of the day, everyone stated that the highlight of the day was breakfast at the diner. The service was fantastic. The food was unique and delicious. We could have stayed for days to enjoy the decor. It was a walk down memory lane. Thanks for the enjoyable experience. We will be back soon.
The apple french toast was absolutely amazing and filling! I got an egg over hard and whatever seasoning they used was Godsent!
I have wanted to try this place since I saw a piece on it on TV. My main disappointment with this place is that it took 53 min to get our food (people next to us came in 20 min after us and received their food before us)...when the food arrived they forgot my grandsons food...BUT the manager did comp our entire meal..
Business response:
We really messed up! We are so sorry Robin.
Between the list of rules on the doors and the list of rules on the first page of the menu, this place obviously doesn't want customers. While some people feel the decor is kitchy, it comes off as cluttered and run down. I would like to say we enjoyed something but to be honest we didn't meet the requirements to eat there this past Saturday. It's a good thing there are plenty of other places near by that wanted our business.
Went here today for the first time. I look forward to coming back! Totally enjoyed the Vegan Nachos. Service was very attentive and I found prices to be reasonable!

So we changed it to 7 people because our guest was hungry... she said: Well I placed you in the ba... read more
Been wanting to check this place out ever since I saw them on the Food Network a few years ago and finally made it out yesterday while in Baltimore for the Black Eyed Susan Race. This place is amazing!!! Loved the artsy funky decor, food was delicious, service was very friendly and attentive, and to top it off they have an incredible outdoor garden. I can't wait to go back!!!
