Prohibition ended in Nebraska on August 9th, 1933, and Ole's opened at 12:01 the next day. Since then, we've been known as the bar in Paxton with great food and unusual decor. Over the years, our founder, the great outdoorsman Ole Herstedt, embarked on adventures in big game hunting that took him to every continent. For 35 years, he brought his trophy mounts home and hung them above the bar tables and booths: a moose from Canada, a python from Honduras, and even an iconic polar bear! I love this place. First time for me, wish I could have met ole himself... what great stories he earned along the way. Food was very good, and the staff are friendly and efficient
Great atmosphere, great food and great service. it's been around 45 years since I ate there last....was glad we stopped
Delicious food ate the shrimp fettuccine alfredo and husband had the baby back ribs. I couldn't even finish my meal too stuffed. Would definitely go back again! Service was slow but waitress did very well for the multiple groups of people that came in. Worth the wait
Very attentive young waitress named Whitney who was great! Great food. Great atmosphere. Kids loved all the animals in here.

Kim: Sorry about the confusion this morning. There was a meeting starting at 10:00 am in our breakfast room and the server should have had our south door open and available for the pubic. I did discuss the attitude issue with her as well. I appreciate you taking the time to stop. Sorry again, if you stop back sometime please ask for me, I would like to make it right with you. Delicious food at a great price! My husband says even their fried pickles were good because they were crunchy instead of soggy and had a great taste. And of course my burger and fries were delicious :) would LOVE to go back and take family and friends. Also the atmosphere is WiLd! Loved it!
