Prohibition ended in Nebraska on August 9th, 1933, and Ole's opened at 12:01 the next day. Since then, we've been known as the bar in Paxton with great food and unusual decor. Over the years, our founder, the great outdoorsman Ole Herstedt, embarked on adventures in big game hunting that took him to every continent. My aunt and uncle lived in and around Paxton, I've been going here since I was little. LOVE this place!! Now I take my kids here when we are out that way!! :)
A trip to Colorado wouldn't be complete without stopping at Ole's!
Great food! Huge portions! Great Service too! Everyone was really friendly even when my kids were roaming around looking at all the animals!

Updated: please read comments. Decent food (only had nachos). HORRIBLE SERVICE. It took 40 minutes just to get Nachos and the place is not busy so that's not an excuse. It also took over 10 minutes for someone to seat us because they didn't notice us. Server never came back to see if we needed anything (and we did need several things, salsa, sour cream, napkins, water refills), she never picked up our 2 empty beer bottles. Katie: I apologize for the service you received Saturday evening. We actually had 4 tables wait over 40 minutes for their food! This certainly is not normal or the level of customer service I build the business on over the past 25 years! Saturday evening we served over 243 meals between 6:30 and 8:30 and we simply got overwhelmed a couple times. I should have bought your meal and drinks like i did for the other 3 tables. Sorry again. I, myself, have never been here- I am writing this review for my husband and his brother who just left and said it was Phenominal!! They ask that I rave about the Buff Burger - Chicken Fried Steak and the delicious mashed ..... I'm a diner owner in Ohio so we are foodies and they are super satisfied !!! Great job!!!
Love this place! If you ever drive thru NE, you have to stop in Paxton! For at least 11 years now, Rick and I have been planning our drive time to & from CO based on when we want to stop at Ole's for a Buffalo Burger!!
Went there for the oysters and was not disappointed. They were great!
