Prohibition ended in Nebraska on August 9th, 1933, and Ole's opened at 12:01 the next day. Since then, we've been known as the bar in Paxton with great food and unusual decor. Over the years, our founder, the great outdoorsman Ole Herstedt, embarked on adventures in big game hunting that took him to every continent. It has been a very long time since I was in Ole's, about 1990. Was in Paxton with my sons, Thomas and Nate, daughter in-law Cassie and grandsons Max and Hunter, on Memorial Day 2014, but didn't go in. Should have. Hope to get there sometime soon. I'm an old Paxton Hight graduate, class of 1965.
