Prohibition ended in Nebraska on August 9th, 1933, and Ole's opened at 12:01 the next day. Since then, we've been known as the bar in Paxton with great food and unusual decor. Over the years, our founder, the great outdoorsman Ole Herstedt, embarked on adventures in big game hunting that took him to every continent. Fantastic steak and hospitality. Also, the blooming onion should make any other blooming onions jealous
Long day at a rodeo and really wanted to eat at Ole's. We had a group of 5 people and were standing by the "wait to be seated" sign for 5 minutes. Not a single person even acknowledged our presence. And mind you, there was maybe three tables in there with people at them......
