Prohibition ended in Nebraska on August 9th, 1933, and Ole's opened at 12:01 the next day. Since then, we've been known as the bar in Paxton with great food and unusual decor. Over the years, our founder, the great outdoorsman Ole Herstedt, embarked on adventures in big game hunting that took him to every continent. 15 years coming here and the place has really went downhill. Ordered the Prime rib and they gave me a New York Strip! Very disappointed and won’t be back! I’ll b across the street tommoro night and nxt wk!!

Third or fourth time eating here. Service was pretty good and the place was pretty busy. Got our food out in decent time. The bull fries we had for the appetizer were outstanding! I wish I would have had them as the main course. Best I've ever had! My chicken fried steak was also pretty good. Definitely homemade, which gets big points in my book. Wife had the fried chicken special. She said it was just lukewarm from sitting for too long. Had it been fresh it would have been phenomenal. Overall a very good experience. We'll b... read more
Food was excellent, service was good and we really enjoyed the animals, especially the polar bear, giraffe and elephant.
Love, love stopping here on our way West+ back East. Great atmosphere. Love the trophies Olé collected from his hunting Safaris. Great food. Love the prime rib.
