Prohibition ended in Nebraska on August 9th, 1933, and Ole's opened at 12:01 the next day. Since then, we've been known as the bar in Paxton with great food and unusual decor. Over the years, our founder, the great outdoorsman Ole Herstedt, embarked on adventures in big game hunting that took him to every continent. The steaks and prime rib are absolutely fantastic! Museum grade taxidermy and extremely friendly staff. Can’t recommend it highly enough!!!
Just a fun place to stop and eat. Good quality food and a neat environment.

Had the best prime rib I have ever had. It was so tender and hardly any fat. I did expect horseradish sauce with it, but the Nebraska family we were with said they had never heard of such a thing. We always get it at home (Idaho). They and Husband loved their dinners as well. Our waitress was great. Wish I knew her name to give her credit. We did hear her tell other customers she has worked there 30 years so that may be a clue. 😉
