Prohibition ended in Nebraska on August 9th, 1933, and Ole's opened at 12:01 the next day. Since then, we've been known as the bar in Paxton with great food and unusual decor. Over the years, our founder, the great outdoorsman Ole Herstedt, embarked on adventures in big game hunting that took him to every continent. Nebraska is known for its beef and, growing up in the cattle country of Alberta, I know beef, so when the hunger pangs began gnawing as I was crossing the corn husker state - I thought I’d find me a nice slice of beef. Paxton is a sleepy little town in central Nebraska, but it was large enough to warrant a Steakhouse and judging by the signage on the outside, a rather sizable one. Excellent atmosphere surrounded by hunt trophies...and at least one jackalope. Good food at good prices. Must stop if in the area during mealtime.

Bad food! Had grilled pork chop dinnet. Tough as nails, cold veggies & just a smattering has browns! No butter for roll & no salad!

Love their Mother’s Day buffet, have been going to it for many years! Delicious prime rib, chicken with all the trimmings and delicious desserts.
