Prohibition ended in Nebraska on August 9th, 1933, and Ole's opened at 12:01 the next day. Since then, we've been known as the bar in Paxton with great food and unusual decor. Over the years, our founder, the great outdoorsman Ole Herstedt, embarked on adventures in big game hunting that took him to every continent. My husband and I were driving from Chicago to Salt Lake City. On our way we stopped overnight in Omaha and a bartender recommended we stop here for lunch. Let me tell you....I AM GLAD WE DID!!! The atmosphere is so cool, the food was AMAZING (had the prime rib sandwich), and the service was outstanding! Thanks for the fun memories and a place to look forward to going to again.
