I think UNC health care could improve by not breaking hippa laws. As I laid in a room with 5 other patients being separated by a curtain only for 3 hours, i could tell you what the diagnoses for the patient to the left of me and the patient to the right of me. I can also tell you what their options were as far as treatment goes. This violates hippa to the max!
It used to be the best hospital in the state and still has a great staff. The administration sucks.

As a self-pay patient I have to pay up front before being seen at urgent care. That’s understandable, but when I pay $88 up front at Fletcher Pardee Urgent Care just to receive a prescription for steroids to treat a poison ivy reaction, I don’t expect to receive a bill in the mail 3 months later for extra. Extra for what? Good question. The urgent care MD looked at my rash, said “yep that’s poison ivy” wrote me a script and sent me on my way. That’s it. I tried to ask one of the people at the nurses station to do something a certain way and to call my lady because she is the one who usually comes with them not me and he looked at me and said this is not McDonald’s and let’s just say it didn’t end well for him I cussed him out and said I know it ain’t I didn’t bring my kid to eat I brought her to be fixed an given some antibiotics
