I am very disappointed in New York Life Group Benefit Solutions shorting my claim. I have a claim from a c-section ********** was complicated by a bowel resection causing me to miss 13 weeks of work. I had both transverse and longitudinal incisions making it impossible for me to lift anything I couldn't even lift my baby at first. New York Life paid the first 8 weeks disability payment as if I had a non complicated csection and despite a letter from my bowel surgeon they denied payment for the remaining time. Horrible company for short term disability they pride themselves on never paying benefits and denying claims. I can’t believe ******** does business for it’s employees with this company. They will have you and your physician fill out form send them appointment notes and have them fill out clarification forms just to deny your claim. The claim manager ***** and her supervisor ******* take pride in telling you that your claim will be denied before they receive all the documents from your physician and therapist. I agree they are useless. Inept people and leave management never return calls. Totally give the run around and pass the buck . I hate that my company uses them . I was out for 2 months never got paid. I was never advised of what I qualify for. They literally NEVER called me back EVER! My doctor was so incredibly frustrated with these people that she said she has NEVER seen anything so unprofessional. I am still sick and had to return to work because I have no money and thats apparently fine with them.

Sent all paperwork required they claim they didn't receive it. Even though watch doctor ****** send all the pages. Everyone speak to say they take your information and log it but when call that information isn't there. Had surgery was out for two months and they only paid once. Going back to work and they know that but can't answer why I am not getting paid a second time.

Currently on ltd from this company through my former employers policy, who let me go a year ago. Says in a letter they send me that if I can't do my job then should continue to receive Ltd benefits. Was called this morning and told my Ltd benefits will end in May after two years en though I have doctor's note saying I can't do the job because of bone spurs in back. Can't drive a forklift no more or lift the required 50 pounds daily. How can they contridict Their own policy rules. Sounds like a bunch of crooks to me!!

New York Life does everything within their power NOT to pay your claim, that is how they make their money. Getting hold of a representative takes hours on hold and the questions are usually quite simple, like "has my doctor sent in the paperwork for my claim" or "when will my claim be considered" . It's a nightmare and it's supposed to be, I am currently on a 47 minute hold and I fully expect to be transferred which will be another 45 minutes. One woman was so incredibly rude we filed a complaint and asked that she be fired.... read more

I have been receiving LTD benefits through ***** for over 15 years without any problems. I am, however, very frustrated and unhappy with New York Life Ins since it took over ***** and my claim. (1). I always received my monthly payment from ***** in time for it to clear the bank by the first of each month. It is now the 30th and a Friday, but my payment from New York Life has not been deposited. Because the 1st falls on Sunday, I will not receive payment until the 2nd or later, therefore I will incur late charges on some of ... read more

Why can’t I give this place a zero? New York life is the worst. Every time my doctors office fax them over my documents they say they haven’t received it. Or they state they been sending over request to my doctors office and haven’t heard back from them. Meanwhile I get in contact with my doctors office to see if they received anything from them and as always it’s nothing even tho the fax machine seems to get everyone else’s faxes. He was notified of this decision by letter and in a phone call on January 6, 2023. During the phone call, all of *********************** questions were addressed and the ongoing claim process was reviewed.
