So disappointed in the handling of my claim. Went on disability on 1/6/2023, it was approved up to 2/13/2023. I was sent paperwork to provide to my Dr. I had it filled out and returned it. My caseworker told me they could not use the paperwork and required the office notes. She advised that they had not received the office notes. I worked with New York Life Benefit Solutions last year and they did work with me at one time. But I had to work with them again due to a medical need that came up and they took along time submitting my claim and getting back with me. And they never did let me know what my status was regarding my last claim and I was out of work on medical leave for a month and a half due to a medical disability. This company ruins lives!!! Talked to many advocates and they all tell you something different!! Lies lies lies!! Why have insurance if they dont pay when you really need it. They are ruining my life!!! They say they are there to help get better which is another lie!!
Not receiving responses from the staff after multiple voicemail messages. In addition, the claim manager assigned to me in early October 2022, left in late February 2023. After a new claim manager was assigned to me, the denial came back with in a week. Much of the information in the report was inaccurate. I have mad multiple requests for copies of all documents and of course no response. Get an attorney if you have to deal with this group.

You can’t get in totch with any one. Last time I spoke with my claim agent she said I was approved and would be notified within 2 to 3 days of the amount of back pay and amount of payments her name is Ann . That was 4 weeks ago and I have called left message after message . Today I received a letter that says it’s still under review . Worst insurance company I have ever dealt. Been off for 4 months. First check took 7 weeks. Seen doctor after 4 weeks. They canceled my claim before receiving paperwork from doctor saying weather I could return to work or not. So had to reopen claim. 3 weeks later recieved first check. Got 2 more checks on time than stopped. 28 days later after I put a stop payment on check I finally received a check I couldn't cash. Fixed that after many phone calls. I tried to open a PFL claim due to emergency surgery or a family member, 5 weeks later it is still in limbo. NYLife is absolutely horrible when it comes to customer service. I would call almost everyday to try and get the claim approved, the **************** reps on the phone are the most incompetent people I have ever dealt with, all they do is pass you on to someone else who is just as incompetent, and every time I would ask a question, I would get a different answer. I would give this company a zero if it was possible. I have had continuous problems with this company regarding my short term disability and FMLA paperwork. I had contacted them several times during my leave to have the paperwork faxed to my providers office. This has been a terrible experience and organization do deal with. My process and payment continue to be delayed. I have a serious medical condition and have multiple provider. This includes doctors from top hospitals in the US. ****, Barns Jewis and HSHS. In their opinion they think a RN knows better then a team of some of the best specialists in the country. Basically are telling me I'm not sick according to a RN whi ISN'T a doctor. I've asked for medical credential and documentation and getting nothing but the run around.... read more

Our Senior Claim Manager called and spoke to ************ 2/1/23, discussing her concerns. Our Claim Team Leader also attempted to call twice on 2/2/23, but was unable to reach ************ or leave voicemail. As soon as a decision has been reached on her claim she will be notified.
