Absolutely the worst! My company changed from CIGNA to NY life benefit solutions and it is the worst process ever. I had a scheduled surgery so I started the process prior to surgery. They advised I needed to call on day on surgery which is crazy..I would be IN SURGERY when they open. I had to call the day after while in extreme pain just to ensure I got paid. I am at a lost of words because I thought my issue was just me. This has been the most stressful time of Mt life. I have been out of work since June 10th, PTO ran out quickly, they approved my FMLA but denied my STD claim. Now I am appealing and I will be back to work before they make a decision. 5 weeks without a check at and so many bills. My first claim rep NEVER once called me and talked to me. If I was able to rate them 0 stars I would. I have had a horrible time with my short term disability claim. I filed 6/22/23 and today is 8/8/2023 and have not gotten a payment to date. I have only spoken to my case manager two times despite putting in several request for her to contact me. I have used the chat function on the website several times and every single time I get into contact with them something else is needed, its the least fun **** go round I've ever been on. Horrible they take forever you never get a clear answer. Youll be waiting for weeks and weeks for them to say they need more info. I would make sure you have at least 6 weeks of living on hand. You talk to a different person every time that cant give you the answers you need, they just tell you to wait and see.If I could choose I would never use them again. But my employer uses them.
Absolutely horrible do not deal with this his company either save your money if you can before a LOA or become a DD.. I am serious these people will not process your claim you will wait and wait for a check and you Will call and call and call nobody cares. Trust me they do not care!!!!! They have paid for years now all of a sudden they are having issues getting the payment to me. I've had to borrow money so that I don't bounce payments. They don't seem too concerned. My advocate returns my calls but is unable to tell me where my funds are.
I had New York Life for my long term disability. I was not allowed to return to my job. I was told to find another line of work. By doing so they would pay the difference up to 60 percent of my old wage. I took a job and was told to email my check stubs. After following what they told me to do. I was contacted saying they did not receive my emal containing my stubs. I emailed the same stubs to the disability attorney that new york life had appointed to me. I wish they had an option for negative stars! I don't even know where to start. This has to be the most frustrating experience of my life. Everything they do is backwards if they do anything at all. The first time that I tried to contact someone it took a week and a half to get a phone call returned. Finally after speaking to "my claim manager " she was supposed to call me back the next day.
