I had an insurance guy give a quote and got me and my wife signed up for life insurance. The insurance guy told us he'd set of some account to have the policy start paying for its self in a few months. Which he did not follow thru. He also was to transfer a policy from another company to theirs. Which also never happened. I called the insurance guy and told him we need to down grade the policy because it was becoming unaffordable and he said he would get back to me with some new policy and never did. They do not answer emails. Phone menu takes ages to go through.A simple parental leave to take care of a newborn has been SO DIFFICULT.I sent in my claim one month ago, it was denied and I was claimed "ineligible". Phone calls magically "drop" and I can't understand the customer service person because they barely speak English.Their website is terrible, there are no options to appeal a claim.I would MUCH rather be able to fix something over email than be on hold on the phone forever.For such a big company these guys sure hav... read more

Based on the information the customer provided we are unable to determine which specific claim they are referring to. We sent the customer an email on December 4, 2023 to obtain more information and try to assist with the concerns she is having. If the customer is willing to provide more information to us customers name, incident number for their claim, DOB, etc - we'd be glad to look into this further.

This company is the worst. My doctor sent all paperwork needed and proved to them that my return to work date was for the beginning of ****. Im 15 weeks postpartum, and I have not been able to get in contact with anyone regarding my case for over a month. I have left messages with the case manager almost every day, and I have still not received a call. I have not been paid in two months. I have a newborn baby, and hospital bills to pay. They dont care, no one will respond to me.

We understand the customers frustration with not being able to reach their Claim Manager. We shared this feedback with our ******** Leader, who contacted the customer on 12/1/23. We advised the customer that the available records fail to prove that shes Disabled according to the policy terms beyond 9/26/23. Worst short term disability policy Ive ever had. Waited almost 2 months for one week of pay. Have to file another claim and dreading it. I know theyll find a way to get out of paying due to missing paperwork etc. Dont pay extra for the supplemental short term disability policy.

I wish I could give negative stars. Have short term disability and keep having medical forms filled out for same reasons. They make excuses they havent received anything from my surgeon or other doctors no faxes nothing. Every time I have my doctors fill out any paperwork it cost me $10 to $ 15 dollars. Always same excuse havent received any fax. Whenever my doctors send NyLife a fax, my doctors would put a copy in my patient file and on my Doctors and hospital patient portal. This company Is full of lier i m on Short Term disability they lied and told me my Short term disability payments where Sent to my bank I called my bank several time with the correct account number and routing number 4 times they lied i have doctor visits and my bills are behind and owe people money because this matter I need to report these lier bout my Short term disability payments

We understand the customers frustration regarding not receiving his payments. We issued payments to the customer via Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) on 11/16/23 and 11/20/23. Unfortunately, the payments were not deposited correctly due to an issue with the banking information. On 11/27/23 we reissued the payments via manual check to the customer and are being sent in an expedited fashion. NYL has horrible customer service and work ethics, when it comes to getting a manager on the phone NYL has been handling my case since 10/16/2023 and my doctors have sent them everything they need, and my case is still in pending status. every time i call and ask for a manger the representative come back to the phone with the same answer the manager will not take the call they are unavailable. this company is heartless and unprofessional. i give 0 stars

My experience is similar to others described. Horrible company staffed by liars well-versed in scripts for every scenario designed to cause delays in full medical leave approval which is only granted at least 2 weeks beyond each subsequent review date, then stops once it is time for NYL to pay their portion of paycheck despite all information received by treating physicians SPECIFICALLY stating I am unable to return to work.
