I was approved then closed due to break down in communication from my surgeon at Mayo. Now I've been trying to submit a review to re open claim and upon there first reqest for this Mayo wanted a written not verbal release of information it took pulling teeth to receive this from new York life. Took a month to finally get the release and it was only due to what can gather was a change in there website allowing such fors to be printed without a login. Awful!!!! I submitted my paper work a month ago and have yet to receive any decision for my claim. They do not care if you are behind and on the verge of losing everything. I have 3 kids to take care of.

First 2 checks came on time,but now I feel like I am getting the run around as well. They said my check was mailed on 01/09/2023 but as of today I still have not received it. It only takes 3 to 5 business days to get. My check for the week of 01/15/2023 has yet to be issued. My car payment is due with no money to pay. I got this insurance to keep this from happening during my recovery and to be stress free for my healing, Guess what? more stress and at a time when I don't need to stress.

Ny York life is a joke std the case manager, manager are all one big joke , I already had an open claim my provider requested an additional 6 weeks these clowns had me going back forth for 6 more weeks sending paper work and forms they always need something I requested for managers manager and I was retaliates against all of a sudden my dash board was updated with closed when it hasnt been updated in 2 months , they make you even sicker , when I say I have no respect and I will not give them another dime of my money , now I ... read more

My employer offered disability insurance was through new york life. My experience with them has revealed a company and employees that hide behind indirect phone trees, and do not respond to questions on emails. They defer, delay, and offer vague reasons why your claim is not processed. For my company this benefit has become a joke as it IS NOT for the benefit of its employees. It obviously is only for padding new york lifes bottom line.There is also no chance any regulatory agency with any detailed review of this company. Ot... read more

I could not agree more with ********. Going thru the exact same thing. It's almost impossible to get intouch with anyone to get a clear answer. No one ever answers the phone. I don't think they even care that you are behind your bills, can't keep up with the appointments or medications because of no money coming in. I truly home to never ever have to deal with this company. Their is absolutely no compassion or urgency tp get things done with this company. Very disappointed...

I am very disappoint to have these companies that demand our social security numbers after receiving all of our demographic information. WHY? They still dont know whose on the other end of the calls. They dont want it for any other reason.

This insurance company is by far the worst to work with. We and like many others who have made comment's are paying for a service but what is the point when they dont want to provide a service in a timely manner. My husband has been battling with them for 9 weeks now and every time we call there is always something else they need. I think enough is enough with the way this company runs their business. People have short term for a reason and to not get paid makes it very stressful for families to maintain day to day living. T... read more

I am going through the same problem as we speak with new York life. I feel as though its more so of the claim manager you get they take their time even when you do have the info also you could never talk to your claim manager to see what your actually need Im always getting the run around now i am back behind on my bills. So there fore I will be dropping them as an insurance when I come off of maternity leave.
