My experience with NY Life is the same as everyone else that posted here. *** never posted to BBB before but NY Life is so terrible to work with I felt obligated to. My wife and I are on maternity/paternity leave and both of our companies use NY Life. Theres no communication and no movement on our leave requests unless we call to push things along. Incompetent employees. After providing a mailing address, the company sent "documents" to address I haven't lived at for 16 years.

NYLAARP.com has been taking my money for payments and not send any statements either by mail or email, and I am out of over 300 dollars, since they say my policy was canceled (without notice).

Horrible experience filing STD claim. They make you feel like your lying about your serious medical condition. Seems like they are trained to find anything to deny your claims. Despite objective medical information provided by my health care provider noting why I need to be out of work "medically". They denied my claim because they say my medical information doesn't support that I am disable. Not true at all. Based on the information the customer provided we are unable to determine which specific claim they are referring to. We sent the customer an email on December 26, 2023 to obtain more information and try to assist with the concerns she is having. To date, the customer has not responded. If the customer is willing to provide more information to us customers name, incident number for their claim, DOB, etc - we'd be glad to look into this further.
I recently had a total hip replacement and like everyone mentioned in their review, the customer service is beyond poor and lacks in communication. From day one I signed up to receive text messages, I was getting messages in the beginning but that all stopped when decisions were being made. Don't go with this company, when you need them to pay for the insurance that you have been getting from them they will NOT PAY A DIME. this has been the worse experience that we could of had with an insurance comany. Not only going through all the hospital bills but having to try to get money out of them has been a joke. Denied twice because they don't want to pay for the insurance that you pay for. A complete money pit, where you give them money and when you need for them to pay they won't.

I have dealt with New York Life for 8 years. I have to say it was the worst experience I have ever had with a financial investment. Agents who care no more about customer service satisfaction to a customer service center who can not give out the same information twice. I needed to surrender my policy to move it to another company. It took 6 weeks as they kept losing the paper work and then told me they have skeleton staff in the mail area.
