If I could give it a zero star I would.. I was speaking to someone in the loan department about resolving my loan issues... and that stupid bitch did nothing but give bad attitude..and honestly that the type of shit that makes consumer say fuck it put it on my credit. Antoinette pennington is the worst person navy federal could have hired.

This bank refuses to explain who & how were they authorized to tap into my savings account and pay off my credit card without my authorization. If i'm late on my credit card i will be responsible for the late fees, how dare they say i must have done it, knowing exactly what they did. Also, my checking is the only account that's linked to navy credit card, so they have no right going to my savings. Now, a few days ago, i ended up with 9 insufficient funds 9x $29 , for 9 transactions of getting declined with the navy card. I t... read more

I filed a claim for a second review regarding a disputed charge on my debit card. I sent in copies of my receipt for my purchase and I was told after I called them, not them notifying me in 10 days as they stated they would, that I failed to show proof that the charge was invalid. Well, Navy Federal how can I show proof that the charge wasn’t valid IF THE CHARGE IS NOT MINE!!!! I PROVIDED PROOF OF MY CHARGE and yet I was told that this is a dispute and we can’t make them give you the money.. Well why do you have a dispute de... read more

They lied about credit card sign-on bonus. I signed on for a credit card, met the criteria and waited over five months. When I contacted them they refused to pay stating that I hadn't met the minimum spending amount (which was well over three times what I agreed to). I feel cheated and lied to and they will never be getting anywhere near my money again. I'm cancelling my checking and savings as well. They are clearly not there for the military personel or veterans, they're only looking out for themselves.

I have been a loyal member of NFCU since I first enlisted in the Marine 10 years ago, and I honestly felt that being a member at NFCU is a special privilege for those who served. However, I recently lost $4,500 to an online fraud that have really devastated my family. This is result of someone gaining access to my NFCU account and transfer $4,500 from my checking to an external account claimed to be under my name. Despite NFCU knowing the external account does not belong to me, NFCU is holding me accountable, and is only wi... read more

Stay away from Navy Fed for home loans. They completely Messed up my VA loan. They were still requesting documents that were already sent to them on the day of closing. They were 30 minutes late on the day of closing sending the documents to the title company. My loan documents were wrong when we received them on the day of closing. They had my home owners insurance at 2,600$ a year instead of 1200$. They promised me that when I closed I could buy down an interest point with that money I received from closing. that was also ... read more

Completely unprofessional bank. Does not care that it stopped an automatic transfer from my USAA account to their credit card without my permission, causing that credit card to go into arrears. Due to being in arrears, my credit score was severely damaged, and they refuse to rescind the derogatory remarks placed on my credit report, even after admitting their own fault. Their explanation for cancelling the auto-payment was that they cancel auto-payments when a new credit card is issued. It is unconscionable that a bank of th... read more

Navy Federal opened a claim as fraud for me. Since the merchant had my address from a previous account, they sent that to Navy Federal, with a tracking number that had no proof I got anything. Navy federal went against me. The fraud was not even made under my email, etc. Nobody called me to process an order for 2k+. All shady tactics by both vendor and NFCU. I then disputed it since they are not on the side of their customers, and said I never got any merchandise. Navy Federal ignored me and did not want to help. Switching... read more

This review is specifically about the NFCU mortgage department. I have been with Navy Federal for the last 19 years. I have done all of my banking with NFCU. I have bought multiple cars with NFCU. I have used them for everything. They have been wonderful. 24/7 customer service, every experience positive. Then I bought a house with them. Every part of the NFCU mortgage experience was a horrific nightmare. From grossly incompetent people who can't get their (very basic) numbers right and can't be bothered to return your phone... read more
