I visited around 4 times in the past 3 months here. Good choice of cars for Emerald club members and smooth process. Easy pickup and return. Process needs improvement for exchange of cars. I find little inconvenience during my exchange for car. Other than this great service.
Pickup and drop off went smoothly. Tank was not full and inside windows were filthy. Always have a good experience with National, but this car was not prepared.
Unfortunately the worst experience with National (or any rental agency) I have ever had. I've been a loyal customer for many years (i rent every other week). This service was incompetent and inexcusable.
Nice to have Emerald Isle and not have to wait in line. But car was not very clean and smelled very badly of smoke. Busses were also dirty and waited a long time for pick up. Switched to them from Avis after having to wait in line too much at Avis. Will try them one more time next week and see which one to use.
Very disappointed in my experience at the DTW National Car Rental. My reservation paperwork said to go to the counter. There was only one counter person (at a major rental center, i.e. the DTW airport), resulting in a long wait to speak with someone to pick up my car. The counter person said that since I was an Emerald Member that I should have gone directly to the Emerald Aisle (so why didn't it say that on my reservation?). I can't say enough great things about National at the Detroit Airport. I forgot to make a reservation, but since I was an Emerald Club Memeber they didn't have a problem giving me a car as soon as I drove up. The remarkable part was upon my return. We were running very late with only 30 minutes until our plane left. We told the woman checking us in that we were late. Great great great service, nice car - VERY clean and lots of good choices. I'm an executive member and enjoy the perk of missing the counter line and being dropped off directly in front of the executive line. Returning the car was just as easy with your very friendly staff. Thank you!
Emerald Club pick up & return at this location was super easy, fast & friendly!
I haven't rented in a while but since I was a emerald member I decided to use national. There were quite a few new changes that I wasn't aware of such as: a 500 dollar deposit if you are a local and not flying in, the emerald isle doesn't have the selection of cars that I was use to it now has mostly foreign cars, and last but not least you cannot pay with cash any more only cards are accepted.
