No customer service, starts at the top with one of the managers Alan Sullivan. I am an executive elite member and never had the experience I had this evening. Checked out without incident, received a phone call from Alan and told to return immediately or I would be charged an additional $75 per day, from that point it went down hill rapidly.
I always rent from National and am always pleased with the aisle service and easy, fast return.
Recently went on a family vacation in which we needed a large vehicle. I signed up for a Chevy Tahoe but when I arrived they upgraded us to a 15 passenger van at the same cost because the Tahoe had not arrived. This really made the drive very nice with plenty of room.
I have been using National for the last 7 years and their service had always been excellent. The cars are new and clean, free of technical issues and the customer service is great, always ready to help, provide the info or make necessary changes.
In the main, I have had good experiences with National. Occasionally, and this happened on Monday, they run out of decent vehicles and you have to wait for one. Also, I hate the shuttle bus and many of the shuttle operators who clearly do not understand customer services. High marks for National in the main. Low marks for the DFW car rental shuttle service.
I arrived at DFW on a Wednesday (11/1), at 1300 hrs. The shuttle bus eventually filled up with people and luggage, Therefore, some of the other comments on "packed" shuttle buses are valid. The Emerald Club aisles had a reasonable number of cars from which to choose. The car was clean and performed well. The return drop (Sunday, 11/5,about 1800 hrs) went well.
