When Cedar Rapids needed hospital beds in 1900, the Sisters of Mercy established Mercy Hospital in a small house on Third Avenue and Sixth Street Southeast. The 15-bed house was soon too small, so the Sisters of Mercy looked for money and a site to build a larger hospital. They went from parish to parish and to nearby towns. In 1903, they were able to construct a 100-bed hospital at Mercy's present location. Best care ever as a patient. Now as an employee...best place to work ever!!
Every time we have an ER visit we have been treated with care and respect even when it was obvious that the patient load was heavy. Sometimes it seemed forever to get discharged but they have to follow protocol. Every person there could not have been nicer.
Mercy hospital just denied me medical care because of lack of insurance even though my doctor feels that it's important that I get this test taken wtf and I tryed posting this on there page and it would not let me
HORRIBLE BILLING DEPARTMENT!! This is the second time I've paid the same bill, after cashing my tellers check they sent it to a debt collector! They even acknowledged in their home office that they cashed it and it's paid, yet they sent a nonexistent bill to a collection agency! I've had enough of this BS!!! Horrible company!!
Dr. Aucutt and Brian (our nurse) were incredibly kind and compassionate during a difficult visit this weekend. They made a difficult experience as manageable as possible. Thank you for taking care of us with knowledge and grace.
When I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer at 31 years old, every single doctor, nurse, tech and volunteer made the whole process so much better. I will never ever go back to St. Luke's because of the wonderful care I've received at Mercy.
I tried to give the hospital a one star rating but for some reason it wouldn't let me. I have never experienced a group of more condensing doctors and staff then I did tonight. The level of care was substandard. They have all the fancy computer systems but for some reason each new doctor or nurse would ask the same series of question. Came to the hospital for help and seem like all they had that night were lectures. Sad just sad
