The MAT has been an Uptown hotspot for over a decade. In 2009, it was bought by Kidd Kraddick Morning Show co-host Big Al Mack. Come hang with Al at The MAT! Great Food. It was nice. Small place but fun atmosphere! Drinks were not too pricy.
Food - service -atmosphere were all outstanding. Loved it. The stuffed peppers were amazing. Definitely would go back again.
The dj that was on the patio jammed song after song. However, the condescending rude bartender Kevin was another story. He never greeted us and besides that he kept overlooking us to help other customers. When I asked him for the name of another manager he said he was it. So Big Al you may need to look at getting a bartender that is friendly with people even when they don't look like him.
Definitely a wonderful time! Looking forward to returning.
We visited Dallas this weekend to go to the Rangers game. After the game we wanted to check out the MAT. We had an AWESOME TIME!!!! We got to love on Curtis. We saw Big Al. Tons of fun to be had at The MAT! Go check it out!!!

Everything, everyone was wonderful. Later in the night valet got kinda stupid. Other than that we had a blast!!!
Friendliest staff west of the Mississippi! Love the rooftop deck! Fun drink selection! Great place to chill with friends on a sunny afternoon!
Big Al's has a casual, fun, and friendly atmosphere! My husband and I are from out of town, and we happened to walk into this bar on karaoke night. It was the best! We ended up staying most of the rest of the evening there. The drinks were good and karaoke was very entertaining. At one point a Congo line happened in the bar!
