The MAT has been an Uptown hotspot for over a decade. In 2009, it was bought by Kidd Kraddick Morning Show co-host Big Al Mack. Come hang with Al at The MAT! Great Food. Great food and service. Loved watching all the games on the different TV's.
My husbsnd come from out of town about once a month or so to go to the MAT. We take the train from Ft Worth just to go there. My first time there Big Al walked around and stopped at each table to say hello. He took pics with anyone that asked. On college game days it's a blast. I'm older but we love to go there. The food is good. We were there yesterday. The service is good. Sometimes they are so busy it's hard for a server to keep up. Last time I was there I took my pic with Curtis. First time last time. Should have went to taco bell.
I went there for the first time and met my friends for drinks. Big Al was there and we had a great time visiting and ended up booking an event there for 75-100 people! We sat at the bar and the bartender was very friendly. I will def be back!

Like always we had a great time !! Thanks Al, Kera, Danica, and everyone else that helped us while I was visiting with my sister Kelley !! Unfortunately, we had to go back home to East Texas!!! But we ALWAYS go see Al when we are in Dallas!!!!
Ehhhhh. We had an ok time. We had a bachelorette party and the DJ was more interested in birthdays and was rude to us...
My money is on the turtle to give faster service with a smile. Sorry Big Al, NO BUENO! That's a big name on the entrance for flat draft! You should send someone in to check on your namesake every once in a while. I think I just saw the turtles race across the street to your competition!
I had a blast at the MAT! Big Al and the staff there are great. Can't wait to go back!
