The MAT has been an Uptown hotspot for over a decade. In 2009, it was bought by Kidd Kraddick Morning Show co-host Big Al Mack. Come hang with Al at The MAT! Great Food. We had a blast it's a very nice place to be I will b returning again
First time here to celebrate a birthday. A few of our group had placed orders and never received their food until we complained to the waitress and had to place the order again. We were forgotten a lot by our waitress maybe because as a group there is an automatic 20% gratuity that gets added to the already expensive check. The only reason I would ever go back would be if I have to go back for someone's birthday again.
Been there a few times now. Love the atmosphere and friendly people!!!

Not sure why people are offended or giving bad reviews on the bar. My Wife and I came for the Mayweather/mcgreggor fight a little while back and Al was awesome. I don't expect him to remember us but we remember how much fun we had, how welcoming Al was, and met new friends that night as well. We live in Waxahachie and look forward to being regulars at the New location. Drove in from San Antonio to visit Big Al’s bar. The staff was friendly and helpful. Big Al was also there chatting with customers and posing fir pictures when asked. The food was ok but the atmosphere was great. I’m reslly not a bar person but I would definitely like to visit again. If you had a bad experience I recommend giving it one more try.
Al thanks for the hospitality for the David W Carter class of 82 reunion!!!! The atmosphere was great. You interacting with the crowd, the karaoke and the DJ was the bomb Diggity great place I gave your tavern a five star!!! Thanks my friend!!!
Great atmosphere, great bar, employees do a wonderful job. Also turtle racing and open mic on Tuesdays is so fun!
I had the most amazing experience last night! Everyone was having such a great time with the karaoke everyone joining in. The food was amazing the drinks were perfect the staff was awesome I can’t wait to come back to Dallas and go again!!! And to top it off I got to meet Big Al!!! One of the best bars I’ve been to in years!
