At Mamacita we pride ourselves on creating a community atmosphere while serving culinary creations and libations utilizing the freshest of ingredients. At the core of our offering is a homage to original Mexican dishes made from scratch each day. House-made tamales, tortillas and sauces create a foundation for our ever seasonal menu. While unique and carefully crafted ceviches, enchiladas and tacos have become house staples.

YUM YUM YUM! – I just can't get enough of the food at mamacita. The chef often creates new seasonal dishes that are amazing and I am always happy to see my favorites (chicken tacos and chilaquiles) are always on the menu. The margaritas are great and pack enough kick to get your night going in a very fun direction.
Worst Margarita Ever! – On Sunday night I took my mom (visiting on vacation) to Mamasita for a margarita. I had been hearing such great things about this restaurant and their famous margaritas, but had never been able to get a table without a reservation. What a dissapointment! Our margaritas were overly sour, had no alcohol in them, and tasted like a watered down juice. Don't believe the hype, this restaurants drinks are seriously overrated.
Delicious and friendly – Had dinner last night and thoroughly enjoyed it.. Started with the very garlicky guac and a house margarita. For dinner had the most delicious soft mahi mahi tacos (my friend had the pulled pork soft tacos)... 3 small tacos but every bite is fantastic. Finished with the chocolate dessert with peanuts. Excellent service from the host to the waitress. The only downside - a bit on the loud side so I wouldn't go with a group.. you'd never hear someone at the other end of the table. Also, go early or make... read more
Worst experience ever! – Unfortunately, this was the worst restaurant experience we have ever had. We went there on a Thursday night at 6:45pm. We were told that it would be 45 min to have a table for 4. After waiting for 1 hour 20 min, there was a table for 4 but the lady at the reservation desk decided to give the table to a couple. We were dissappointed. Then there were 2 more tables became available - 1 for 2 and 1 for 4. We could not believe when we saw they separated the table for 4 into 2 and decided to serve the coup... read more
Best Restaurant in the Marina!!! – This was mexican food like I have never had before. It was amazing. Their selections of seafood were unique and delicious. Tuna tartar had excellent flavor combinations and a stellar presentation... and of course the chicken enchiladas was right on the mark. They have kind of taken a tapas style approach to their menu which is great when you have a bunch of people at the table. It gives you an opportunity to try a wide array of menu items. Margarita's are directly from the Gods themselves a... read more
Mamacita's Has Gone South – I completely agree with the previous reviewer. We got both of our appetizers right away, and then had to wait over 30 minutes for the next one. Plus, the crowd was obnoxious. We sat next to a meat head that liked to hear himself talk -- so loudly I couldn't hear the person sitting across from me. This place has gone south....Try Regalito's in the Mission -- better "high-end" Mexican food, better priced, better crowd.
TOTALLY OVER-RATED: This place is OVER – I have eaten at Mamacita many times - it's always been good, not great. Fun because it's usually crowded. But now, it's truly over, I was there last weekend and the place was completely and utterly mis-managed. They could handle the crowd (it wasn't that big and frankly, is a little more "bridge and tunnel" than usualy) if they just had a competent hostess and management team. They easily could have turned more tables, managed the inventory much better. I truly felt sorry for the wait... read more
Pretty good... – Food was pretty good but the place is always packed and is very loud. Not a good date spot. Better for dinner with friends. I'd say it's a bit overrated
Best New Age Mexican – Okay, if you're expecting "real" Mexican food as in fish tacos from a stand in Playa del Carmen. No. Not so much. But this place has amazing food. Truly, truly fabulous. It's new age Mexican or grown up Mexican or however you want to describe it. Get the chilaquiles (sp?) no matter what you do. All of the small plates are fabulous. Great atmosphere and the pomegranete margaritas will definitely set you free.
