At Mamacita we pride ourselves on creating a community atmosphere while serving culinary creations and libations utilizing the freshest of ingredients. At the core of our offering is a homage to original Mexican dishes made from scratch each day. House-made tamales, tortillas and sauces create a foundation for our ever seasonal menu. While unique and carefully crafted ceviches, enchiladas and tacos have become house staples.

Brunch and Dinner are both a must do – A vibrant flavor, fresh ingediants and stellar service is what you will find at mamacita. Our three experiences have been nothing short of perfect. The brunch is great as it is the only quality mexican brunch I have ever found in San Francisco where there is both care of the quality of food as well as the freshness and quality of the bloody's and margaritas (From scratch) Do yourself a favor try this great restaurant.
Check it out... – I've been to Mamacita's twice now and I will definitely be going back. The service was great and the food was excellent. I highly recommend the pomegranate margarita, chile relleno, carne asada tacos, and the enchilladas rojas with chicken. Yes, you have to pay for chips and salsa, but the guacamole is well worth it. It's a fun place to go with someone special or with a group. Although you have to speak over the loud crowd, that is usually a sign of a good, popular restaurant.
Amazing Experience – What a wonderful suprise. I have to say that they hit all three key aspects on the head...atmosphere...food....service...and oh yeah the drinks are great too.
Surprisingly good – I expected to be disappointed in this place but the food was fantastic. I had the Halibut served over polenta awith some yummy sauce and it was DELICIOUS. The Margarita's are good even though the pitchers they come in are tiny. And the churro's for dessert were a great way to end the night. I really really liked this place and will definitely be going back soon. Order something besides your tradition mexican food and you will be pleasantly surprised.
Perfect Blend of taste, location, and scene – Went to Mamacita expecting the people watching and scene to be great, but was most impressed with the quality of the food. The service, atmosphere and food was amazing. The icing was the fact that for the first time ever, you can walk into a Mexican Restaurant and have a dessert that tastes good to finish of the meal. Highly recommend checking it out and try the dessert.
Excellente – Wow knocked my socks off....the food the service and the ambiance were all memorable and worthy of going back three times in a two week period. Thank you to these owners for opening an excellente restaurant in San Francisco...finally we have great mexican food.
Do these other reviewers have taste buds???? – First of all, I think chips and salsa should always be free at Mexican restuarants, but having to pay for chips and salsa is not my biggest gripe with this place. I have never tasted such bland Mexcican food. The servings are small-- not worth the price at all. I tried several different dishes-- the tacos, the cerviche-- all really flavorless and basic. I think Pacific Catch down the street have heartier and more flavorful at half the price! If you like your restaurant to be a "... read more
Trendy restaurant, great food but a bit loud – Everything that we ordered was excellent - the standouts include the ahi tuna (entree size), halibut, carnitas tacos, the corn (side dish), scallops, and, of course, the extremely fresh and delicious guacamole. The only dish that came close to disappointing was the mahi mahi ceviche - it tasted slightly fishy. The wines that we tried were also incredible especially one of the Spanish whites. The service was fair - they still seem to be working out the kinks - but not awful. The ... read more
Can I eat at Mamacita's every night please? – We waited for a good hour for our table, but it was worth every second. I wouldn't hesitate to wait 2 hours next time after sampling a few delectable items from the menu! The incredibly kind and helpful staff served us fantastic margaritas, chips, and guacamole while we waited. The guacamole is the best I've ever had. The suggestions the waitstaff gave us were right on - everyone at the table was in awe of the unique and wonderful flavors coming out of dishes like corn and scallo... read more
