At Mamacita we pride ourselves on creating a community atmosphere while serving culinary creations and libations utilizing the freshest of ingredients. At the core of our offering is a homage to original Mexican dishes made from scratch each day. House-made tamales, tortillas and sauces create a foundation for our ever seasonal menu. While unique and carefully crafted ceviches, enchiladas and tacos have become house staples.

It's about time! – We have all been waiting for a restaurant with incredible food and equally incredible atmosphere in the marina/cow hollow area! Mamacita is the perfect place for groups of people or a date to have a fun dinner experience to begin a Friday or Saturday night. The food was awesome. I would highly recommend the enchiladas and the ahi appetizer. Our waitress was perfect, great timing and very helpful! I will definitely become a regular!
Pretty Good... – Not great. Good experience, but the food was only ok. I would go back again because it was fun, but the food could be worked upon. Guacamole just tasted like avocado, the Carnitas tacos were quite salty and the halibut lacked flavor. Pomegranite Margarita good, but one is enough because it is so sweet. Service good.
Very great experience – I can simply say that atmosphere, food, drinks and value are all fantastic at this location. I have already been twice and had two uniquely great experiences...one with a large party and the second with a date. One thing I noticed is that it seems to be a more smaller group food focused customer earlier and a bit more larger groups louder later...but always great food and drinks throughout. One last thing to mention is that the value is very fair...I've never left hungry and broke always satisfied wit... read more
dining delight – The two palm trees in front form the gateway to a culinary fiesta. The decor is hip, festive, casual and very inviting. A true authentic Mexican food oasis in an ordinarily plain vanilla neighborhood. The chef is spectacular. The best way to describe the food is borderline orgasmic. Try the fish tacos w/ mango slices and the carne asada. Fresh warm tortillas and spicy salsa made daily are major +++ too. Because of the bar, the restaurant remains open until 12am., making Mamacita a great place to grab an afte... read more
User review by nigellia – Okay, I admit it. I love good Mexican food and wanted to be among the first to try Mamacita.. Everyone in our party was very pleased. This is a beautiful place with fabulous food. We'll be back again and again and again. Now, if they'll just add Sunday brunch.....
Mamacita is Fabulous... – If there is a long wait opt for the bar. We showed up they told us two hour wait, It took less than 20 min. @ the bar. The food, service and drinks are great. The tamales are a must. Tacos are the best I've tasted in the city. Milagro silver great choice for well margarita. You can't make a bad choice with this menu. Try the pomagranite margaritas. Very friendly staff. Would defiantly go back.
Finally good Mexican in the Marina! – From the moment you walk into Mamacita on Chestnut, you forget you're in the old tacky Marimba space. Drenched in clustered star lighting, beautiful dark wood bar, and stunning wall of black and white photos, Mamacita looks amazing! Creative Mexican dishes are to die for...don't miss the carne asada tacos and chilequiles. Oh yeah...where else in the city will you get a hand made margarita with fresh agave nectar?!?!?! In a neighborhood where service typically comes second, I was very imp... read more
Finally A Cool Mexi Place With Spicey Eats – After dining at a wide variety of traditional mexican/spanish places across the city, I finally found some hot exotic dishes/drinks at Mamacita. The Chilequenos are a type of nachos I've never had before consisting of chipotle cream sauce, spices, shredded chicken sprinkled with some authentic mexican goat cheese...absolutely awesome...probably could develop into a weekly obsession. The skirt steak is buttery, well-portioned, melts in your mouth, and with a couple of fresh margari... read more
Really enjoyable – Really enjoyed the overall atmosphere, the steak and the margaritas the most. Went with a party of 4 and all of us had a great experience. So much so it was worth me taking the time to write about it.
