Searching for help is the biggest problem. Getting vinyl flooring there is a "need help?" Right by the machines. I pressed the button for over 15 minutes - no response. So the flooring is right by the restrooms. Many many employees passed me by while heading AND LEAVING the bathrooms and no one even asked if I needed help. So I snatched someone and their answer was sure. She quickly checked and saw someone on a computer, pointed to her and said ,"yeah she's over there on the computer." Great follow through NOT! We had a issue with a lawn mower we purchased. I called and spoke with the Mgr. Matt. He understood my problem and came up with a solution. He fixed the problem without me having to even come back to the store. Great experience!
The Plainfield Ave. store would be a great place to open a good hardware store. Every time I walk in there, I figure on losing a half hour. There are no staff with knowledge of the area they are working. This store also has a problem maintaining inventory. Be prepared for this store to close within a year folks. I've have seen these symptoms before in to other retail home improvement stores. Honestly don't know why I continue to hope they have what I need.
I've spent a ton of money on home repairs here and have had to return multiple times due to incorrect pricing or ordering the wrong items. Ordered cabinets for delivery and they've called me three times to tell me they will give me a two hour time window at 9 am on the date of delivery. It's after 9 and no call. It'd be worth paying double the price at another home improvement store not to have to take a whole day off work. Frustrated.
Waited a half hour for someone to come on the appliance sales floor to show us appliances, [was told he was in warehouse], and saw many customers walk away... Hope this helps...
My Husband and I were very excited to have a back splash put in our kitchen. We went to Lowes on Plainfield and picked it out. We decided to have them do the install. A guy came out right away and took the measurements and gave us the quote. My husband went into the store signed the contract and paid the money only to have over a week go by with no call from anyone!!! We made more than one call to Lowes telling them we hadn't received a call and they kept saying we should hear by the end of the day. Needless to say tomorrow ... read more
