I went through reading the comments before writing this and I am completely shocked by the experience other had or are explaining about because I had an exceptional experience...so much so we literally started pushing family members to our rep for refinancing and new home loans. Process was about 40 days long but due to interest rate reduction. Loan Depot is completely failed at securing my refinance loan for my house. The representatives were like predatory car salesman who over-promised and under-delivered. Every time I spoke to the representatives my out of pocket costs and the loan amount went up. Unacceptable. They failed at closing the loan in a reasonable amount of time. Trying to refinance through Loan Depot has been a huge waste of time, and it looks like I will not be refinancing now. This company should be shut down.
I was introduced to a sales rep from Loan Depot last year when I went to a local Home Show. My house needed work desperately but I didn't have enough equity in the home to have the work done, and I couldn't find a local bank that could offer the type of refinance loan Home Depot offers to afford the repairs. He told me to get 3 quotes and then contact him to initiate the refinance process. There were definitely problems for us with contacting key people at key times, and the process took much longer than has been typical for us (nearly two months for a very simple refi) but I wouldn't go so far as to say they were "totally disorganized." After all, this all took place during the COVID 19 pandemic panic, and it is no surprise to me that banks etc. dragged their feet with the process to some extent. From start to finish, Nick B******** was amazing and very quick and responsive to our every question and need! Honestly, we can't say enough about the customer service that we got from Nick and Tim at LoanDepot! I will recommend them to anyone! They closed exactly when they promised they would and no shenanigans, everything was straight forward.
