My food was not cook the way I wanted.
I was less than impressed with my Entree. I am not from the Charlotte area and we were given the suggestion of Lawans. Our food was not hot by any standards. The macaroni and cheese was dry and lacking cheese to say the least. and I won't Even speak of the over boiled not grilled Turkey ribs. Or the Extremely greasy world famous pork chops.What I will say Is the Homemade sweet tea and Desserts were good. But as a whole it left a lot to be desired.

Hospitality, and some of the best food in South Charlotte! Everything was awesome. Even the desert! ( Home made, pineapple upside down cake)
The smothered pork chops w/rice and gravy, collards and potato salad was awesome. I wish I had gotten the lady's name who took my order. She was fabulous. I can't believe I forgot about his place. I will def remember whenever I'm in the mood for soul food.
This was our first time visiting Charlotte and visiting La’Wan’s Soul Food Restaurant. The food was everything! My husband had the grilled Whiting and I had the fried chicken wings. It was so good! The staff were very friendly and the owners were lovely! I could not visit Charlotte and not visit La’Wan’s! If you’re ever in the area, you have to stop by!
I ordered chicken livers and gizzards they were good. Flavor of red beans and rice was good; cabbage was good. Didn’t care for glaze on cornbread
